Welcome to the Emotional Mastery Podcast. I am your host, rochelle. I'm a holistic human design health coach and this is a space for human design and spiritual journey. It's not about being a master of your emotions, rather mastering the tools to self-regulate, to awakening yourself and remembering who you are. Human design changed my life about five years ago and I've been learning and teaching the system ever since. This podcast is human design meets spirituality, meets astrology. You don't have to have a belief system to be here, just an open mind and curiosity. This is a journey of meeting yourself and awakening to your infinite potential. Now let the magic begin.
Speaker 1:Welcome back to another episode of the Emotional Mastery Podcast. For the rest of the month you're going to be getting me. I have guest episodes recorded, but they are going out January and I have experimented with completely taking December off in the past. I have done it full force in the past and what I found to work was I just take time off interviews in December to sort of like give myself some space to rest, and so, yeah, so the rest of the month you're getting me and guest interviews will resume next month. So in the meantime, if you have any recommendations or you have anybody that you really want to hear on here, let me know. Over on Instagram, at Rochelle, christian and I am so happy to reach out and see if I can get them on the podcast, holistic Human Design Academy will be open enrollment again in January. So if you're interested in that and didn't get in, it will be open again. So I plan to open it the first week of every month moving forward, and it is a program that is designed to really help you integrate embody, get really intimate with your chart, with your human design, your astrology, but also it provides the tools to do the work, because when we begin this deconditioning process, when we begin to understand the gene keys in the Venus sequence and the Pearl sequence and all these things, it brings up a lot of shadows, and so this program also gives you the tools to move through those shadows, whether it's journaling, subconscious reprogramming, tapping breath work.
Speaker 1:I introduce all of these so that you have all this in your tool belt to experiment and see what works. It's really everything that I wish that I had when I started out and the knowledge that I wish that I knew, because that's where it usually starts right. And I've funneled it into one program. And not only that, but you get the membership. So the membership space on Instagram where I do lives, q&as and you get the community right. You get put into groups in the DMs with the community, where people are so beautiful and supportive in there and sharing their experiences and their stories and lifting you up, and that, honestly, was one of the most beautiful pieces of this program, which is why I decided to create it into like a membership. So, anyway, all that information is down below and again, doors open on January, january 1st, you'll be able to get in again and one-on-one sessions are available and open and a coaching package which is three months and we go really deep into your chart, into reprogramming, into subconscious beliefs and just really provide the support and the tools to move through that, to connect more deeply with your body, to understand what works for you and really begin that process of aligning with your most authentic self in that deconditioning process. So all of that is open and available. Everything that you need to know is down in the show notes. My website is rochellechristiancom, instagram at rochellechristian, tiktok same thing Podcast or, sorry, youtube, if you listen or if you watch YouTube videos at Emotional Mastery Podcast.
Speaker 1:And today I really just wanted to come and talk about my current personal lived experience, because this is a really challenging phase and, astrologically, on my chart, there's so much going on Pluto square, pluto, pluto opposite my moon, uranus on my sun. There's just so much, and I know there's more than that. I think, oh my gosh well, the full moon was just on top of my Venus. There's been a lot going on. It's been feeling really, really intense and so shadowy, which is like that. What do you call it? Pluto square, my natal Pluto.
Speaker 1:It's just like it's bringing all these things that I can't ignore. And also, I've noticed it's bringing up these things, my shadows, that the thing that I'm like, my big manifestation goals. I have to deal with these. It's sort of like, okay, you're asking for this, now we want to make sure that you can move through these, because, in order to embody that energy, you have to understand, you have to learn these lessons and reprogram and move through it. And so, for me, a lot of my shadows come from avoidance, and what I mean by that is when somebody gets angry, I tend to avoid, or I used to, and of course, my last role had really had me working through a lot of that where I can't avoid things because that's my job and so these things have really, really helped me move through them and also it's been so, so uncomfortable at the same time. So over the last few months I've really, really been diving into this deep subconscious work.
Speaker 1:To the first thing, the very first thing is regulating your nervous system, because you can't do the work if you feel unsafe. And a lot of our fears and our triggers and our trauma comes down to feeling unsafe. Right, that fight, flight, freeze, fawn like our mind reacts because it feels like we are unsafe. Our mind reacts in a certain way because it feels like we're dying, whatever the situation is, and so our first instinct is to get ourself to safety. And a lot of times those things aren't really serving us because we're not really threatened in the way that our mind and body believe that we're threatened, right.
Speaker 1:So anything about public speaking I'm pretty sure I heard the statistic somewhere. Don't quote me on it, but I'm pretty sure public speaking is like the biggest fear, like in I don't know if it's in America or in the world, probably America, I don't know in the. I'll have to find that statistic and I believe it's because when we get in front of a big crowd, we feel so unsafe, right, Like we feel. I mean, I know, for me, I literally I took public speaking in college and I don't remember, like I literally blacked out. The only reason I know I took it is because it's on my transcript and I'm like I don't remember taking this class.
Speaker 1:I literally have no memory of public speaking, and so it's like we literally block out this part, like it's so, for whatever reason, triggering for so many of us, and you know, we start sweating, our heart races, we can't think clearly, all these things, this fight flight, like our body wants to go in this fight flight mode because we feel like we're dying. Right, we feel like we're unsafe, but we have to. What we don't, what our mind doesn't't realize, is we are safe now, right, in the big picture, we're not being chased by a tiger, right, our life is not actually being threatened, but our body responds in a way that makes it feel like it is. And so the very first thing is emotional regulation, nervous system regulation, understanding how to calm yourself, how to come back to yourself, how to know that you're safe and really empower yourself through that. So, whether that is, you know breath work, whether that is journaling, a huge one is movement, because I've I'm sure you've heard the example, but you know, when animals are out in nature and they're being chased, like, let's say, a rabbit is being chased by a fox or something or a bear or whatever it is, once it finally gets to safety they shake right, like they shake and they release and that's their nervous system regulation. And then they move on. Right. They're not going through the rest of the day being like, oh my God, he almost got me, what if he gets me next time? What if he comes close again? Like they don't ruminate over it, they don't cause themselves undue stress over it. Time and time again they shake, they release and they move on. And that's something that we don't do. We've somehow forgotten the importance of movement in our life. And I'm not talking about going to the gym and working out six days a week, but just like movement walking, dancing, shaking, whatever it is Like shaking is a nervous system regulation tool, right, like just standing there putting on some music and just like shaking to it or rage dancing, I think, is one of them where you just like let it all out.
Speaker 1:Yesterday I was trying to decide how I wanted to move my body in the morning and I decided to do a dancing workout. That's on my app and I felt so insecure in the beginning I was like I'm literally here in my room by myself, why do I feel like this? And so I pushed myself to continue to do it and, by the end of it, like I have no what's the word? I'm looking for Coordination. I am not like. I used to live in Spain. I've tried to learn salsa, flamingo, like all these dances. I have no coordination in my feet. So I know that that's like it is what it is, and so I think, when I was younger, I felt like really embarrassed because, you know, all of my friends would go out and dance to the bars and clubs and you know, again, when we were in Spain, we'd go out salsa dancing and I just didn't have that coordination. So I think I felt embarrassed and so that's like carried with me over time and it really doesn't matter, like we don't have to be coordinated, just like move your body Right.
Speaker 1:So whatever that looks like for you is so helpful to regulating your nervous system, to reminding yourself that you're safe. So this is the very, very first step that I do. It's like take a deep breath, like I am safe. There's nothing in this moment, like what I always think about. That too. It's like this, this very moment right now is perfect, right, like it really pause and tune into your body. Like how do you feel? Like is there anything right now, in this moment, that you have to do? Like typically the answer is no, like this exact moment right now is perfect, right, it's exactly what it is. And so, again, coming back and reminding yourself like I'm safe, I'm held by whatever, like consciousness, god, the universe, spirit, whatever terminology you want to use, and like tuning into that and so that usually helps me then activate that like love, feeling right that, like feeling of my highest self, of spirit, of God, whatever, again that, whatever terminology you want to use for that, and like breathe into that for a few minutes.
Speaker 1:So then, once you've regulated yourself and sort of like activated that right now, we can really like do the work. And so I have do the work, and so I have, and it's not just a one and done thing. So my daughter, I've, you know, encouraged her to journal, to meditate, to like do some sort of practice, and she'll come back and tell me well, it just doesn't work. And so I asked her well, how many times did you do it? She's like well, I did it once. Okay, we didn't make a routine and a practice of these, right? So you can stack habits in the morning whatever that looks like for you.
Speaker 1:So for me, my personal routine in the morning is I wake up, I drink water, I pour myself coffee but I don't immediately drink the coffee and then I sit and I journal. So I journal my intentions for the day, I journal affirmations, I journal my dreams and then I journal any like reflections from the day before that I didn't journal the night before, because sometimes you know, when we're journaling things at night, like maybe everything doesn't come out, or maybe you don't journal at night and this is your one spot to do it, but anyway, I just get all of that out. So it's about two or three pages, and then I do an EFT tapping. So this has been added over the last I want to say two months or so. I feel like it's definitely been more than 21 days to create that routine and I just do a quick short five minutes, one right Like. I find Brad Yates on YouTube. He's my favorite, so I do his, or I'm part of Natalia Benson's MWMM program, so she's got a lot of tapping in there for financial abundance.
Speaker 1:Releasing the shoulds, that's a big one that I do a lot, and so that's sort of that is my morning routine. I drop the kids off, I come home and I move in some way. Lately with my new job. I only have about 20 minutes in the morning to sort of move my body, so I'll do like a 20 minute HIIT workout strength training, dancing, yoga, pilates, something like that just to get myself moving in some way, and then I go about my day and so those things have sort of empowered me then in the morning to come into my confidence, to sort of still myself, to journal out anything that needs to be journaled out to move my body, to like sort of like shake all that nervous energy out that comes with, like starting a new job.
Speaker 1:I feel like I'm kind of falling more into my like anxiousness, which I'm really really moving through and consistently reminding myself. And that's the thing, it doesn't just end there, right, like I listen to things that inspire me. So on the way to work I'm listening to podcasts. When I get an opportunity, right, I'm like I'm infusing these things into my day to really inspire me. So my lunch break I'm you know that I'm writing blogs, I'm doing any work that's related to this Instagram content, things like that but I'm constantly reminding myself during my day. I'm like when I get like anxious or stressed or I have those thoughts of like, oh my gosh, like I can't do this, I immediately rewire it right. It's that thing of like poking holes.
Speaker 1:So I'm also rereading Loving what Is by Byron Katie, and she has these four questions Is it true? Do I know that it's true? I can't remember the third question right now, actually. And the fourth one is who would I be without these thoughts? And so, man, what is that third question? It's in my journal on the other side and I do not remember right now, but anyway.
Speaker 1:But the whole concept, the whole theme and theory behind loving what is is like loving this moment. So often we're like well, it should be like this, it should be like that. In those moments we're resisting the reality. Okay, like maybe it should be that way, but it's not. So the way that it is is actually perfect, because this is what it is.
Speaker 1:And so during my day, as I'm moving through and I have those thoughts of like, oh my gosh, I can't do this. I'm like, okay, is that true? No, it's not true. I know I can do this, right, this is my current reality, this is what's happening, so it shouldn't be any other way other than the way that it is. And reminding myself I control this, I control my reality, I control the way I show up, I control the things that I say, I control the actions that I'm taking, I control the way that I perceive myself, I control the way that I present myself. I control that reality, right. And so, sitting here being like, oh, I should have done that, okay, I should have, but I didn't. So the reality is that this is what's happened, right. And so, like now, what's the next best step from there?
Speaker 1:I have gotten really clear over the last couple months on my values, and for me, a lot of that is honesty, integrity, freedom, spirituality, education, and I think that's it. I'm like, I feel like there's one more in there Freedom, spirituality, education, honesty. Yeah, I think those are the big ones. And so, again, this theme. I think, because I've now gotten really, really clear on that, the universe is testing me with that avoidance piece, right, that little shadow of avoidance where, when somebody gets angry, I tend to avoid because anger to me is unsafe. That's what's been shown in my life when somebody gets angry, I am now unsafe, and so it's really I can even feel it in my body right now like activating that right. So it's really doing the work of like, okay, just because you're angry doesn't mean that I'm unsafe, doesn't mean that I have to hide, doesn't mean that I have to avoid you. Let me take ownership, let me be honest, let me be transparent, let me, you know, not protect myself, but let me like, come back to myself and activate my higher self, like I can come To this situation with compassion and love and work to understand you right.
Speaker 1:Like there was somebody that came in and they were, um, had a little bit of an attitude like I guess for me, sometimes, when I think of like anger, uh, passive aggressiveness doesn't really trigger me a little bit, but anyway, this person was a little bit upset and if we hadn't have had like compassion and just like listening to me, like hey, I understand right, like they were having some health issues, that they ended up saying like hey, I'm sorry, like I'm not upset with you, like I'm just having some health issues and it's, you know, kind of on my mind and I just don't feel right and it's like, okay, you know, that makes sense, right. So understanding and remembering that, however somebody is reacting to you or however somebody is coming at you or presenting themselves to you, is more a reflection of them and there's always something going on, right, like when people freak out about seemingly little things, like it's not little to them but there's also an underlying issue that they're not being transparent about, right, like they're not like telling everybody about and so like having compassion and understanding. There was somebody that I used to work with and I used to just admire the way that she always had a compliment for people. She always would just like be honest and truthful and curious, right, she would always ask questions, and it was such a beautiful quality to have, because it's so easy in those moments of like to step back and come from a place of fear and like, oh my gosh, right, but being curious and compassionate and be like, oh my gosh, you know, like just the little things, like people really do appreciate, like, oh my god, I love your shoes, where'd you get them right, just like little things like that, right? So again, that nervous system regulation is really important getting out of our head.
Speaker 1:I heard I think I even talked about last week but I heard somewhere that it's like our fears are actually selfish and it's like if I'm walking around all day being like, oh my gosh, I'm so worried about what that person thinks about me, like that person is probably not even thinking about you to be so selfish, just think everybody around you is concerned about you. So it's kind of like zooming out a little bit and reminding yourself of the reality of the situation, right, so poking holes, like do I know this is true? Am I resisting the current situation? Am I resisting the current moment? Right, like, am I resisting? And so really rewiring those.
Speaker 1:And the more that you do it, the easier it is to come back to that. So again, like that thought of like, oh my gosh, I can't do this, I made the wrong decision. Okay, rochelle, I get. I honor that. I feel stressed right now. I honor that I feel afraid, I honor that I'm worried about my future or whatever. But do I know that this is true? Do I know without a doubt that this is true? No, I don't. There have been so many things in the past that I didn't think that I could do that. I did. We all persevere, we will figure it out, we will educate ourselves, we will learn things.
Speaker 1:And also the thing with manifestation, too, is that I think a lot of times at least like I can speak for myself in the beginning of my journey, I'm just going to manifest, I'm going to put it out there and it'll be so easy and it'll come to me. Well, manifestation isn't that easy because we have to take the action right. There's no wrong thing, there's no wrong way to go about it, but you're going to have to come back and continue to learn the lessons. So if you want to manifest I don't know a car you have to like, maybe take the action of, okay, going to a dealership and just test driving right, and then this is, for me, like and then being having to say no when I'm being pressured in the moment, like by the car or whatever. So there's a lot of tests that come along with it, and maybe test isn't the right word.
Speaker 1:I was really resistant to that word in the beginning but there's a lot of opportunities that the universe gives you to take action to change your current reality, and that's often uncomfortable and we often don't want to do those things right. We want to come back to what was safe. It's just like our north and south node in astrology. Whatever that south node energy is. For me, that's Libra, being the people pleaser, right, keeping the balance and harmony and avoiding and all those things feels really comfortable to me because that's what I'm used to. But having to be in a leadership position, having to assert myself, that feels really uncomfortable. And also, because I've been in my nodal return, I know the power of that and I know that it's calling me. So I have to step out of my comfort zone and do the hard thing to rewire myself, to prove that, hey, I am safe to do these things, regardless of what my past has shown me. This current moment, this current reality, that's what's happening, and so not resisting has been really powerful. And so nervous system regulation I can't emphasize that enough. We cannot do the work if we're in a dysregulated state, and so then the work comes to being honest with ourself, creating self-awareness, which is where human design and astrology are really beautiful tools.
Speaker 1:Journaling At night I do so. I talked about my morning routine At night, I do a. So I talked about my morning routine. At night, I do a daily check in. I've been doing this consistently for a couple weeks now and it's been so powerful, it's been so supportive through this shift in this change, like beyond anything else, like being able to come at night, and I and I got this the specific set of questions from to be magnetic inside the membership space, and it is. Have I manifested anything today? Have I met with any triggers today? Have I been expanded by anything? Is there, was there any action pieces that would lie me with my highest self? And there's a couple more questions and I'm not remembering them right now. Any action pieces? There's a couple more questions and I'm not remembering them right now. Any action pieces? Yeah, that's like the gist of it, right, so then I'll just journal out those things.
Speaker 1:The other thing, too, is I think we write our manifestations and we write these big, grand manifestations like I want to make 100K in a month, like whatever it is right, also being practical about it. I'm using that as an example. And so we have this big, big manifestation that we're chasing, but we often don't realize the little things right, the little wins, the little manifestations, like I have been, on my manifestation list is a two-door black, mat, matte black Ford Bronco, and it's not often a color or body style that you see a lot right. And so I was walking the other day to my car and I turn and I look and right there was a matte black four-door Ford Bronco, and so it's one step closer to my manifestation. So that in itself, like seeing that was like a mini manifestation, right, or even like things that are normal, like having money hit your account, right. It doesn't have to be grand, doesn't't have to be big, it doesn't have to be outrageous, but something. Or getting a free coffee, like these little things I think sometimes we overlook because our mind has a certain way. Like I was talking to, I have an accountability partner for this specific authenticity challenge that is within Tube of Magnetic this season and we were talking about.
Speaker 1:You know, I think so many people, when they're starting their manifestation list, like the little mini manifestations, were like I want a free coffee, I want a free pair of shoes, I want this, that other thing, and so, and then we're like okay, well, like this is a conversation that we had and I think that we have this idea of like okay, well, I'm gonna go to Starbucks and the person behind me is gonna pay for it, and it's going to be like, oh my God, like this moment of like you know this like light bulb aha moment. So then I asked her because she's currently living with her mom. So I was like do you get free? Does your mom pay? Like, do you have free coffee at your mom's house? And she was like oh yeah, I do, right? So I think it's like being open to the possibilities of it, not looking the way that we think that it looks, and I think it's good to be clear and specific and also opening it up to whatever way that the universe wants to bring it to us, because it's never really going to look our way. Right, our subconscious is really powerful and our subconscious is really deep, and so just making sure that we're keeping it open and we're opening ourselves to the possibilities and being curious.
Speaker 1:And so I do that at night and then I do a manifestation, I do a meditation, not every single night. I go back and forth with meditation in the way that it looks for me. Sometimes it'll be like, you know, 20 minutes of sitting still, sometimes it's a walking meditation, sometimes it's a yoga nidra, like. I vary the way that I do it. So I would say, probably, like every other night, I'll do, you know, a 10 minute meditation, or or I'll just like have a moment where I sit with myself and let myself activate, like that love feeling.
Speaker 1:But before my other recent thing is that while I'm going to bed now, I listened to a self self-hypnosis. The current one I'm doing is Stop Self-Sabotaging and so I listen. I generally fall asleep during them, but I know that it's hitting my subconscious because I do feel more confident since I've started these things, and so I listen to that at night. You can listen to. I pay for the app that I'm using, but you can find on Insight Timer. There was like a law of attraction, self-hypnosis. They have so many free options so you can go onto Insight Timer, find the self-hypnosis YouTube. I'm not a huge fan of YouTube because they have ads, so unless you pay for ad-free YouTube, you might hit some ads. Those are like the biggest two that I can think of where you can find free, like self-hypnosis. You can even like on Spotify.
Speaker 1:I used to do frequencies, sound frequencies, so like I don't remember the hertz right now, but listen to sound frequencies, something that's going to be hitting your subconscious while you're sleeping, right, to continue that reprogramming your subconscious. And so those are really the big ones. That's really what I've been working on is allowing what is regulating my nervous system, right, and then finding these ways to reprogram and rewire my subconscious. And sometimes it's so, so easy, or it's sometimes it's hard to go back to the basics. But, like human design, it's like I think we want to know all these little details about ourselves and understand this gate and that line, quality and this and that. But really, truly, the power comes from just aligning with your type, strategy and authority.
Speaker 1:Right, like I'm an emotional manifesting generator, I need to slow down. I have an undefined route, and so that's constantly this pressure of like do it now, do it now. They're waiting, do it now. And so it's this practice of like okay, that's not my pressure, I don't need to be pressured by that. So I literally was journaling this morning and I was like slow down, slow down, take your time. There is no rush, even if somebody is standing in front of me, there is no rush. Just be honest, communicate. Hey, I'm just going to be just a minute, right. Like when we do things so quickly, especially as an MG, I skip steps. So if I'm like rushing to do things, cause I'm like, oh my God, you're waiting for me, I have to do this quick, ah right, and then I'm going to skip steps and I'm going to overlook things because I feel that pressure. So that's a, that's a practice for me Slow down, ride my wave, do not make decisions right now, right, understand that I have that open and enveloping aura and wait to respond.
Speaker 1:The universe is going to give me things to respond. There is no other way, right. And a lot of times when I this is another thing I've done like in the morning I'm like I declare that X is going to happen today, I declare I'm going to be confident today. There's no other way, there's no other option, there's just no other option, right. And so those sort of things have really empowered me and it sort of gets you in that frame of mind. So that's sort of what I've been moving through.
Speaker 1:I could go so much into the astrology and maybe I will on the next one, just for anyone that you know. I think actually next episode I'm going gonna write it down, next episode, I'm gonna do a tracking the transits episode so how you can understand and how you can begin to track the transits. I'm writing it down right now track the transits episode. That way you'll understand um, that way you will understand or maybe get a better idea of how to do it for yourself. And I'm also creating a freebie. Hopefully it'll be ready by the end of the month. Um, it's really going to be just like breaking down your human design how to understand it, how to layer the transits in there. It's just sort of like a, a how to guide Um. So that, yeah, I'm working on that. But that is the episode for today.
Speaker 1:I hope that it's supportive. I hope that there are some tools in here that help you. You know, my whole goal with this podcast is in, especially with guests and everything is. There's going to be a tool somewhere in here that'll help you, right, and it's just being consistent, it's experimenting and it's giving a chance, so finding something that calls for you. Give it 20 days, 60 days, right, whatever you can. Give it the time, give it the op, give it the opportunity to work for you, because these things truly do work. You just have to show up, right, you have to show up and you have to do it, and so I'm gonna leave you at that. Um, again, everything you need to know is down the show notes.
Speaker 1:The next episode, I guess, will be after christmas. So, if you celebrate Christmas, merry Christmas and emotional regulation, because I know the holidays aren't always the easiest, you know. I know sometimes we drink more and then that dysregulates us. We're not eating the best food and that dysregulates us. So, having compassion for yourself during the holidays, implement some of these practices, try some of them out.
