Welcome to the Emotional Mastery Podcast. I'm your host, rochelle. I'm a holistic human design health coach and this is a space for human design and spiritual journey. It's not about being a master of your emotions, rather mastering the tools to self-regulate, to awakening yourself and remembering who you are. Human design changed my life about five years ago and I've been learning and teaching the system ever since. This podcast is human design meets spirituality, meets astrology. You don't have to have a belief system to be here, just an open mind and curiosity. This is a journey of meeting yourself and awakening to your infinite potential. Now let the magic begin. Welcome back to another episode on the Emotional Mastery Podcast.
Speaker 1:Today is our monthly transit episode and I know it's a few days late I think today is now the fifth when it's coming out, but better late than never. This week we had our new moon on Sunday or Saturday night, depending on your time zone and this new moon in Sagittarius was really powerful. I've been feeling this one pretty strongly. It was also in gate nine, which I have multiple times in my chart, and gate nine is the gate of focus and it's really focusing on the details over the bigger picture, because sometimes we can get really overwhelmed with the big picture and then we don't even want to try, right. We kind of just like throw our hands up. It's also shadows held in negativity. So it's sort of that idea of if I am looking for something negative, I will find proof of that everywhere, right? So like, if I think life is hard, I will find proof that life is hard, and it's the idea of like getting caught in that and not being able to pull yourself out, and the gift is really in being able to just take the next best step right, put one foot in front of the other and move on, kind of take that again, that next best step. And it's felt, honestly, pretty challenging over the last few days, and I know a lot of people around me have been reflecting that.
Speaker 1:So, whether they're just reflecting what I'm already feeling or if it's a collective thing, it's always a collective thing, because this is something I've also been thinking about we're not as alone as we think we are, and I think this is one of the reasons why we suffer a lot is because we feel like we're so isolated. We forget that we're all connected. We forget that we are here to support each other. We push away relationships. We push away vulnerability to protect ourselves when really it's not protecting us. I mean it is right, I mean that's the way that we learned that we would be safe, depending on what your trauma is and your upbringing but it's really not serving us.
Speaker 1:And I felt a lot come up lately. I've been doing the to be magnetic work. I've really been consistent with it because I kind of like what she calls it toe dipping in and out, and I've really been trying to show up and do the work because a lot of subconscious reprogramming, or sorry, a lot of like shadows have been coming up in the, the apart even from manifestation. Just that subconscious reprogramming which allows us to be our most authentic self is so powerful and just like noticing where I have shadows and today a big one can actually two came up, but one specifically. I'm switching jobs on Monday and, of course, like I don't feel like in my mind, I'm like super anxious, but my body is telling me that I am, so I am.
Speaker 1:It's, you know, in customer service as well, and I had a customer today reflect or tell me. I guess that I was terrible and he didn't say that, but I was not great at customer service and that's sort of my own shadow right, and I know who I am, I'm realistic, I have awareness of how I present and I'm calm, I'm kind, I'm not over the top, I'm not, you know, I'm real, I am who you would think that I would be if you met me on person. At least, I think that I am, and but I am pretty soft spoken and so, anyway, long story, but I found myself kind of like replaying it today and then it brought all my other wounding where I was like, oh my gosh, I just get out of the industry completely. Should I not go to another customer service job? Should I just like, try and do something where I'm just sitting behind a desk and not interacting with people? But I genuinely love interacting with people and I also know, realistically, not everybody's going to like me, and that's fine, and I know that people project and maybe this gentleman had a really hard day, like. Whatever the case is.
Speaker 1:So sometimes it is like I was just talking about it on Instagram today, just like separating the mind and the emotions and I was a little bit embarrassed in the situation, but I also don't have to make it mean anything about me and that's where the magic is, I guess, and not losing yourself in moments like that and not letting the shadow come over and the old narrative come over. And I was also thinking of that story of, like the two monks that are walking across the river and there's a woman that can't get across the river and monks are not supposed to like touch women or be around women and the one monk lifted her up and put him, her on his shoulders, or he carried her across the river and set her down, and then they just kept going. And then the other monk was like kept saying for miles and miles, you know, oh my gosh, you touch that woman, you put her on your back and you walked her across the river and, oh my gosh, and finally, after however many miles, the other monk turns to him and he goes I set her down miles and miles and miles ago and you're the one still carrying her right. So I always think of that analogy when I'm kind of like attaching to things without like invalidating myself, because I was a little bit embarrassed because that's not who I am and for somebody to perceive me that way was a little bit embarrassed, because that's not who I am and for somebody to perceive me that way was a little bit hurtful. And also I know that it's not, doesn't have to be my reality unless I allow it to be right. There wasn't, there is. If I saw no truth in what he said, I wouldn't be bothered by it, but because there is an element of my shadow held in what he had to say, I really internalized it and I don't like to do that, but it happens. Right, we're all human and, um, it's just part of the process. But, um, all that came from the new moon just like sort of oh, being consistent and really working to reprogram those and actively in the moment, like if I have to take a step aside and breathe, and just like go into the bathroom and calm myself and just staying that like calm presence, that as much as I can, and yeah, we're all in just to like, when I feel anxious, know that it's just a body reaction, right, it doesn't have to mean anything more than my body's feeling anxiety. Okay, now let's move on, let's keep going, and it doesn't have to like destroy the day where it once probably would have.
Speaker 1:Okay, so, transits of this month we'll talk about the moons first. We just sort of touched on the new moon, which happened on the 1st of December or the 30th of November, depending on your time zone. The next one is hold on. I did not bring my computer over here, not my computer. I'm on my computer. I didn't bring my iPad over here, which is where I usually put the new moons, the moon cycles, that I can look at the gates and stuff. So let me just pull this up.
Speaker 1:So the full moon is going to be December 15th and this is the full moon in Gemini. It's happening at 3.01. At 23 degrees of Gemini, and this full moon, full moons, you know it's time. Full moons hold the energy of think about it. It's the brightest thing. It's not the brightest thing, it's the brightest thing at night, right? Full moons, we can see full moons. It's like it's pregnant with life. It's illuminating things for us, right? So whereas new moons we can't quite see them, full moons we can see them, right? If it was a pitch black night, it would illuminate everything, right? So it's like it's showing us what needs to be released, it's giving us an opportunity to see things that maybe are hidden or in the subconscious, and it's allowing us to move through that. It's like we have to shed and make space for the new things to come in. So the new moon is sort of when we're planting the seed. The full moon is when we're making space for it to really come in right. And so the full moon in Gemini Gemini is curiosity.
Speaker 1:Gemini is held by the archetype of the twins, gemini is a trickster, it's ruled by Mercury and I love Gemini energy. Some people are not a fan, but I like Gemini and um, it's happening in gate 12 and my Gemini, or my Venus, is actually in gate 12 as well. So a lot, a lot of these um lunar events this past year have been really illuminating things for me. But, um, again, full moons are when the moon and the sun are in opposition to each other. And this full moon it's nothing dramatic really is happening. It's square Neptune. So the moon yeah, the moon and the sun are square, neptune making a T square and Neptune is in Pisces and it's just might bring.
Speaker 1:You know, neptune is the dissolver, so it makes things hard to see. Sometimes it's like we're looking through rose colored glasses and also it dissolves boundaries, right. So as much as it makes it hard to see things, it also like lets things fall away a little bit and so in a square to this, squares are typically more challenging, so maybe we won't be able to fully see or get a grasp on the things that are coming up. Um, and that's sort of like, you know, Pisces it's, it's sensitive and, of course, in a moon, the moon is in Gemini, which is an air sign, which air signs don't tend to like sit and feel, so maybe this might bring a little bit more emotion into it with a square to Neptune. But, yeah, gemini, um, as an air sign, doesn't? It's more intellectualizing things, um, yeah. So, yeah, neptune might have us just being a little bit more sensitive with this.
Speaker 1:And there's honestly, like you know, mars is going retrograde on the 6th and so this retrograding energy is bringing it back towards opposition with Pluto, so it's just a little bit closer to that opposition. So Mars is going retrograde at six degrees of Leo and it's going to dip back into Cancer and then it's going to move forward. It was once it moved into Cancer or, sorry, once it moved into Leo, it was opposite. Once it moved into Leo, it was opposite Pluto, at zero degrees of Aquarius Again. So it's going to move back over that and we talked about it in a previous episode, but that Mars-Pluto opposition is really, really charged right. These two planets rule Scorpio, so there's so much intensity.
Speaker 1:Mars is sort of like the immature expression of our emotions, whereas Pluto is that really deep-rooted, like rage and anger, maybe not even rage, but combined they create that sort of like rage friction, um, so that's sort of like still, they're widely opposite, but they're getting closer. Um, that's like really the biggest thing of this. It's in gate 12, which is the gate of caution, and so this is in the throat center, but it holds the energy of sort of what I was talking about before. Like we feel like we need to protect ourselves from being vulnerable and being in relationships when really all we want to be is in relationship, right, and so it's like we're holding ourselves back. We're holding ourselves back emotionally so that we don't get hurt, and the shadow is vanity, and so this is really just separateness, like we think that we're separate from everyone. We think that we're different from everyone. Right, this is the fear of someone taking something away from us, right, like being in relationship, and then we lose our freedom, and so one of the quotes I have here is I'm afraid to lose my unique power, right, like losing your freedom, and Richard Redd talks about this as being part of the ring of secrets, right, so we're concealing things because we're afraid somebody's going to take something from us, right, and that's, that's that shadow. And so it's like we're controlling when and how. So there's two there's always a repressive and a reactive expression of the shadow. So one of these is like we're controlling, we're controlling so hard, like who we let in, when we let in, how we let them in, right. And then there's the opposite side, which is we were just like overly emotional, we just dump on everybody, right, and these are the two ways that this can manifest, right, but we want to get to discrimination, which is the gift, the gift of discrimination. And this is really just like balancing your emotions in your mind, like discerning between these and knowing that there's not necessarily, you know, our mind, our thoughts and our emotions. Neither of them are true, right, and Richard Rudd says I love this emotions are not our enemy.
Speaker 1:I think so often, when we allow the mind to get wrapped into it and the emotions get wrapped into it, it becomes our enemy, right, we get so angry or we get so overwhelmed and we don't know what to do with it and it doesn't have to be that way, right, like we can. The reason I gave that whole example before about being triggered today at work but somebody basically telling me like I'm not good at customer service, it made me feel like that emotion took over, right, and I yeah, I have always been so embarrassed by my blushing and I it's not even like it doesn't even necessarily happen when I'm embarrassed, but when it happens then I become embarrassed. So, I'm sure, subconsciously somewhere, I'm like but this is like I literally can't hold back my emotions and so when I was getting scolded, I started getting red. But then of course, I was so focused on like the blushing and I was like, oh my gosh, like I can't, and so in that way, that emotional response, like we do think I've said it before sometimes I feel like my body is betraying me, right, and it's like we do hold that energy of like oh my gosh, like that idea where he says emotions are not our enemy, like, just because my body responded that way and I had an emotional reaction to it, it doesn't have to mean more than what it was. Right, I was caught off guard, um, it was an uncomfortable situation and, okay, it is what it is right. Um, and so that's sort of like what that holds the energy of. And then, um, yeah, so mars goes retrograde on the 6th.
Speaker 1:That full moon was on the 15th of december. Uh, neptune stations direct on december 7th at 27 degrees of pisces. And you know, again, any retrograding energy is when something is, the energy is moved inwards. So we're introspective, right, and neptune being in pisces, neptune is at home in pisces, so it's all these sort of like downloads and spiritual insights. And of course there's addiction there, because that's the energy that Pisces holds. So addiction, codependence, losing ourselves and other people. So it's like where have these themes really been coming up? And as stations direct, we might gain a little bit more clarity on it.
Speaker 1:And Jesse Ackles was on, I think it was last year. We were doing a monthly. This episode we were doing monthly and she was saying that you know, a lot of outer planets are sort of like retrograding energies regardless, because there's so much further out, right, and they're more like subconscious than you know, inner planets or personal planets. And then so, also the same day that we have that full moon, december 15th, at 3 am, mercury stations direct at 3 pm, so 12 hours later, basically, mercury stations direct and so anything that's been coming up around this Mercury retrograde, again Mercury retrograde, it's our mind, it's the way we communicate, and so it's really just asking for us to slow down. So if anything's been coming up, if you've been wanting to do anything whatever, anything big, that you've sort of been like holding off, like as it stations direct, we will sort of you'll feel more clarity around that. We'll also have our Kazemi. I think it's this week the Mercury, let me see yeah, oh, it's actually tomorrow as this episode comes up we have our Mercury Sun Kazemi, which just means in the heart of the Sun, mercury and the Sun are in the same degree in the sky and when that happens during a Mercury retrograde, we tend to have more clarity, or we tend to have some clarity within what can be like a chaotic energy of Mercury retrograde, of Mercury retrograde.
Speaker 1:And then on, let me see the 7th of December. Again, venus moves into Aquarius. Venus has been in Capricorn, where it's a little bit more the long game right, we're thinking about our long-term goals, we're persevering together and that sort of energy. Now Venus in Aquarius, venus rules Taurus and Libra, so Venus does rule in air sign. Aquarius is an air sign. Aquarius is just a little bit weird. So we're really going to be seeking a lot of freedom within our relationships here. Right, we're going to be seeking to just do things are kind of our own unique way. Right, it's rebellious energy. It's the humanitarian too, because we're one of the like we are going to want to be putting that effort towards humanitarian efforts as well. And that's happening on the seventh. Also, on the seventh, as obviously Venus moves into Aquarius, venus is going to be conjunct Pluto.
Speaker 1:Now, this one is like, I can't remember who it was. Somebody described it as obsessive love, and that's literally what this energy feels like. We have the planet of love, which rules Taurus, conjunct the planet of intensity, death, transformation, rebirth, destruction, power, control right which rules Scorpio, which is the opposite of Taurus intensity, death, transformation, rebirth, um, destruction, power, control right which rules scorpio, which is the opposite of taurus, um. So this can really be some like, even though they're not in their natural signs, the energies that they each hold, you know, coming together, um is going to be, can be, has the potential to be intense, and so just like sort of riding that out and and letting that be um on the. Let's see what's next here.
Speaker 1:The 21st of December, the sun moves into Capricorn and Capricorn is perseverance. Capricorn loves work. It's like the workhorse, right, capricorn? Capricorn I love the example and I know I've used it here. It would just make so much sense for, like Capricorn Versus, like it's opposite in cancer, because I think when you have that opposition, you are cancer.
Speaker 1:The lesson in cancer is to nurture and to be emotional and to sort of like, take care of people, whereas Capricorn sort of does those things, but in a very different way. Right? Capricorn is like I'm going to provide for you, I'm going to make sure that you're fed, I'm going to make sure that you have clothes on your back, I'm going to make sure that you have all the supplies that you need. I'm going to work hard to make sure that we can go on vacation. And it's very like, sort of organized, like that, or like, or logical, I guess, more like that. It's an earth sign.
Speaker 1:So it wants to be like really energy of like you know, if somebody, if a cancer, gets bullied, right, they may cry about it or they may really internalize it. And this is, of course, a broad generalization, because not all cancers are like that. Actually, I think, a lot of cancers. Well, they have a hard outer shell, but anyway, but that could be the energy of something, whereas, like, if a Capricorn gets bullied, it's gonna be like I will prove you wrong, I will do everything in my power to show you that I can do the thing that you said I couldn't do, right. So it is that perseverance energy, it's that like hard work energy, it's that like I will get shit done. I will prove to you the opposite of what you think. Right, of course, it can be taken to the extreme. So, anyway, the sun moves into that on December 21st, and so we'll then, you know, have a season of that sort of energy.
Speaker 1:And then on the 29th, chiron, which has been in Aries, stations direct, so it's been in retrograde for quite a while. I feel like it's been in retrograde for quite some time and I don't I'd have to look. I don't remember when it first started. Yeah, it's not in my little thing, but yeah, I don't know when it started, but it's been in there for quite some time, so it will likely be in its shadow phase for quite a while as well. I'll have to look into when that stationed retrograde, but anyway, so that's going to happen. So, again, just like forward movement in things of Aries, you know, chiron is our wounded healer, so it's always going to be giving us an opportunity to heal things and it's sort of like an area when it comes to our personal chart. Now, collective is a little bit different. You'll be feeling the energy in a little bit different of a way. But Chiron is something that we sort of have to accept about ourself and in helping others heal, then we can sort of heal our own Chiron wound right.
Speaker 1:And then on the 30th is our new moon. So December 30th, at nine degrees of Capricorn, at 4.26 p PM, we have our new moon in Capricorn. Now again, moon, new moons are like times to sort of like set the, the seed right. It's like we're setting that intention, we're dropping the seed. We can't really see what's going to happen because you know the seed is underground, but it's, it's there and it's like it's subconscious. We can't see the new moon, moon, it's subconscious, so it's a lot of like that sort of work that's coming up. It's when the sun and the moon are in the same degree in the sky and with this one we have, um, there's really nothing crazy going on, um, with this new moon, like as far as aspects, so really like seeing what.
Speaker 1:What do you have in Capricorn about it's at nine degrees? So what do you have in Capricorn about it's at nine degrees? So what do you have in Capricorn around nine degrees? We still have, you know, our Mars Pluto opposition are getting closer Pluto's at one degree of Aquarius at this time. Mars is at two degrees of Leo at this time, so they're really tightly conjunct. So this is going to be bringing up a lot of that explosive energy with that opposition. And I think almost everything is direct by this point. Well, mars is still in retrograde, but Mercury is direct. Um, saturn, neptune, chiron, uranus is still in retrograde. Uh, jupiter is still in retrograde, um, but this is all happening in gate 39 and gate 30, or, sorry, gate 38, and gate 38 is the gate of the fighter.
Speaker 1:And this energy is really interesting because the shadow here is struggle, right, and struggle is hugely part of the human experience. But I think what happens is struggle and suffering somehow along the way, get confused. We think that in order to struggle, or because we're struggling, we have to then suffer as well, and the lesson here, I think is being able to just struggle and allowing that to fuel us to persevere, right, this is Capricorn, sort of that example I gave before. It's like if we're getting bullied on the playground, let's say that's a struggle, right Now we can let ourselves suffer over it or we can use that struggle and move ourselves forward. So it's sort of like I feel like that's all, that's part of like the hero's journey, right, it always starts with some sort of struggle because as humans, we're like seeking freedom from it. Right, we don't want to feel struggle because, again, I think that we're confused. We confuse struggle with suffering, like I know I do that, and so it's not suffering, it is struggling.
Speaker 1:And the shadow there again, that's that struggle and it's the little like phrase that I have in here is like I'm struggling to find a purpose in life, right, and the dilemma. So Richard Rudd talks about a shadow, a gift, a city, and it's through the way through. The dilemma of the dilemma here is habit. And so he says that we're trapped by our habits. Right, because it's this day in, day out thing. But we're like trapped by our habits, right it's. It gives us this illusion of security, of like we do these the same thing every single day and we think that it's moving us somewhere, but it's truly not so.
Speaker 1:It's like, how can we break that to then find that gift of perseverance? That's literally the epitome of Capricorn is perseverance, right, find a fight worth fighting. It's like sometimes we will fight the fight just to fight the fight, right, we just want to have that fight in us, right. But it's like, where are we coming from? A place of love? Like anger is a healthy emotion and I think you know so often we forget that. But anger in itself is a healthy emotion. But it think you know so, so often we forget that. But anger in itself is a, is a, is a healthy emotion. But it's like, are we feeling angry just to feel angry? Are we fighting just to fight? Like, what is the reasoning behind it? Like, can we, can we use that energy towards, like love or for love? Right, every challenge this is I'm quoting this from the Jinkies but every challenge is an opportunity to love ourselves more deeply.
Speaker 1:I'm going to say it again Every challenge is an opportunity to love ourselves more deeply. Every challenge shows us a part of ourselves that we can then learn to love and embrace in a different way. Right, this is being really honest with ourselves. This is the key to transforming anything. Right?
Speaker 1:We feel the discomfort, we gain awareness and we're honest about the thing that's causing that discomfort, whether it's like our reaction to something like today, like cycling through that and realizing why I was so triggered by that, because, like, I hold that shadow, that I'm not good with people anyway, let alone somebody saying that to me that's a bullshit shadow, it's an imposter syndrome thing, like, I know that's not true, but there is a part of me that found truth in that, and so I had to be honest with myself of like, why am I feeling this way? Why am I still carrying those words with me? And it was because of that like, oh, this is actually my own shadow that this person reflected to me In that moment. I had an off moment, which we all have, right, like being able to have compassion for each other and like understand, I was having an off moment and and there was a misunderstanding. And then the follow-up shadow, the follow-up trigger, was that I didn't defend myself, but I also it's in an environment where I'm not trying to be combative, right, um, and I, and that that is another shadow, because I've always been told like, oh, you don't stand up for yourself, you're too quiet, and it just felt like a weakness, um, and so that was sort of like, simultaneously, what came up with that. So those are the big shadows or sorry, the big shadows, those are the big aspects that we have this month, and my kids are fighting in the other room. So I'm gonna have to wrap this up now, but, of course, like, I will be writing new moon full moon posts on Substack.
Speaker 1:I'll be having more posts on there. Follow me on Instagram at Rochelle Christian. Rochelle, r-o-c-h-e-l-l-e dot. C-h-r-i-s-t-i-a-n-e. On Instagram.
Speaker 1:Holistic Human Design Academy is open for enrollment until December 15th and this is operating as more of a membership. It's still a full academy in there. So there are still nine modules. So I appreciate you and I will talk to you soon.
