Welcome to the Emotional Mastery Podcast. I am your host, rochelle. I'm a holistic human design health coach and this is a space for human design and spiritual journey. It's not about being a master of your emotions, rather mastering the tools to self-regulate, to awakening yourself and remembering who you are. Human design changed my life about five years ago and I've been learning and teaching the system ever since. This podcast is human design meets spirituality, meets astrology. You don't have to have a belief system to be here, just an open mind and curiosity. This is a journey of meeting yourself and awakening to your infinite potential. Now let the magic begin. Welcome back to another episode.
Speaker 1:Another week and I put out a poll poll on Instagram whether you wanted to hear about Earth energy this week or Saturn energy, and I was all ready to go with the Earth energy episode and I got more votes on Saturn. So we're gonna do Saturn. I kind of skipped Saturn last week because I really felt like it was important to talk about Pluto, especially today. Actually, like I literally think right now, as I'm recording this, within the last 10 minutes, pluto has entered Aquarius. So last week or sorry, the week before was the episode on Pluto, and so, yeah, so we're going to talk about Saturn this week and the Earth one will come next, not the next episode Next episode is a guest episode but the one after that is going to be on earth energy, and then we'll move on and talk about Jupiter. There's been so much that I've been learning around financial astrology, using astrology in your business, especially as an entrepreneur, and I am going to dive a little bit deeper into that. So that will be things that are going to be coming more in 2025 as we're like wrapping up 2024. So, if you're listening to this and there's anything specifically you want to hear at the end of this month or, sorry, at the end of this year, I think there's literally only maybe like one or two more solos that are going to be coming out in December and then we'll be in 2025. And the beginning episode, or the first episode of 2025, is going to be such a good one. I am talking to Lorna Letta all about shadow darkness, all the things, so it's going to be so good.
Speaker 1:I feel like over the last week, what has been coming up so much is this idea not an idea, but this theme of authenticity and I've been doing the To Be Magnetic Authenticity Challenge and with everything like manifestation. As I navigate, just like my every day, I really pay attention and tune into what my body is telling me. So if something feels off, I take note and I ask why, and I try not to reject it or make it feel or make myself feel like I'm wrong for having those feelings and those experiences, but also moving through them. And I get a little bit excited now with discomfort, even though in the beginning sometimes it's like I want to self-sabotage and I don't want to feel it because it does feel uncomfortable but really discerning what is fear-based and what is intuition and what is just a challenge, right, and like knowing that I am safe and so in that mode of I am safe. These are challenges. The only way to move through them and to actually shift my reality is to do the thing and to show myself that I can do it and it's really, really powerful.
Speaker 1:But something that came up over this past week was really noticing where you feel like you are in your most authentic space, where you can be your most authentic self, and so noting in your body where that shows up, like where your inauthenticity shows up, and generally when we feel inauthentic, there is some sort of resistance within our body, something tells us that it's off. We feel like stuck or heavy or something. And so just reflecting on the areas of my life where I feel that the most it's really interesting because, yeah, it's just it's really interesting and maybe I'll get into it on a whole other episode, because I think family dynamics are very, very interesting when you use that word like 10 times in this minute, but they really are, because we are sort of given this title, we're sort of given this archetype, we're sort of given this label from a young age of who we should be or who our parents want us to be, or I think we're not given the grace that people change, and so as we grow and as we learn who we are, it's almost harder to show up in the spaces of family and be able to show up changed and in this new energy that you want to embody, because you're so sort of pegged as like a certain label, a certain identity for so long. And I've noticed how much as I am wanting to shift and change and how I am shifting and changing, how uncomfortable that sometimes feels of being a certain person to certain people, right, and I think that Pluto and Aquarius is really going to be especially I have it in my seventh house, so Pluto and Aquarius is really going to be showing us but specifically me as it navigates through that and opposes my moon really going to be showing me like where that does not work anymore, where I need to set boundaries, where I cannot not show up as myself, because I feel like the more I tune into that version of myself, the more I tap into it, the more uncomfortable when I'm not in that energy it feels like. And so, yeah, it's going to be an interesting 20 years. And you know, pluto moves really slow. We talked about that in the last episode and so Pluto transits. They're very slow to show you shifts. It makes things really uncomfortable. So, and especially, I think, with you know, if you have a lot of fixed energy, then it's a little bit harder to make those changes. But Pluto is constantly going to be showing you the things and making those things uncomfortable so that you do make the change right. So that's just sort of things that I've been moving through over the last week or so, a little bit longer.
Speaker 1:I've been listening to hypnotic meditations, audios at night that are really helping me tap into my subconscious and it's really interesting. I talk about family and things like that or just any relationship dynamic. And the subconscious is really interesting because about 95% to 97% of the subconscious mind or of the mind is subconscious and so a lot of times when we do things, when we operate in a certain way, it's so subconscious it's we're not even really aware. The conscious mind doesn't know that it's even doing it. So this is why, you know, having compassion for people and forgiving people is really important, because a lot of times we operate from this space and we're not even aware of the patterns that we're repeating or the stories that we're repeating, until we can sort of bring awareness to it. And that's sort of what Pluto does, right? It sort of brings up these things from the subconscious so that we can see it and move through it.
Speaker 1:That death, transformation, rebirth piece of Pluto is helping us to navigate that and move through it and really shift that energy.
Speaker 1:And again, the only way we can change is first awareness. We have to know what we want to change. If we can't see what we're doing, we will continue to self-sabotage, we'll continue to repeat patterns that don't serve us. And so you know wherever Aquarius is in your chart or just as you're on this healing journey, right, like really finding tools that help to support you in rewiring that subconscious programming. And that's a piece of the Holistic Human Design Academy that will be launching next week and officially starts December 15th, but a piece of that, a module within there, is subconscious reprogramming, so that you can have the tools to actually do that and show up for yourself and really begin to rewrite that narrative, especially when you really start diving into your deconditioning or say your conditioning within human design and astrology. It really opens your eyes to all the ways you've taken in these narratives and these stories from other people, and so it really helps you begin that process of like shedding and releasing and rewriting that narrative that can be so powerful in just reshaping your life.
Speaker 1:Because we do get to choose our reality, right. We do get to choose the things that we're allowing in, the things that we're calling in, the reality that we want to see around us, we want to manifest around us. We are always co-creating with source, with God, with universe, whatever term that you feel comfortable using, but we are co-creating, right, it's all energy frequency, energy, vibration, it's all that it is, and without going into a whole like science tangent, which I'm not, you know, the best at, you know all the sciencey stuff but it is fascinating to me and I'm constantly reading and learning and there's a module again within the academy that really dives into that and that way we can really understand. I think our logical mind sometimes needs something to do and so when we can understand that, it's really really helpful in that deconditioning process. But the self-hypnosis that I've been listening to at night I do feel like has helped with anxiety, has helped with I'm playing a self-sabotage one, and so I think I'm going to try to do it for like 21 days and then shift to another one. But it's all around abundance, no-transcript, if you believe that it can be easy to make money, like I always say, money is just a number on a computer screen at this point, like why can't I shift the amount of number of my computer screen? And it really takes into that subconscious work to really reprogram that and stuff. But it's just it's. It's. All these conversations, all these pieces are like really coming up and it's something that I'm really digging into and moving through, and so I'm, you know, going to share it here, as I always do, as I'm navigating that.
Speaker 1:But yeah, so this week, I think when this episode comes out on Thursday, because today's the 19th once yeah, when this episode comes out on Thursday, we are moving into Sagittarius season and for me I have Saturn and Sagittarius, so the sun is gonna be moving over that. But Sagittarius, you know, is the archetype of the gypsy, the traveler. It rules the ninth house, it's a mutable fire sign, it's all about optimism, it's ruled by Jupiter, it is philosophy, education, the teacher archetype. So Sagittarius is really beautiful, energy, and so, as we again, wherever Sag is in your chart over the next season, we are going to be diving into that, and in the book club on Instagram, we're going to be starting Man's Search for Meaning Such a good book, such a powerful book. So if you again are interested in joining that, I'll leave the link below so you can request to be part of that group and join us in there. You can get the book online Audible, kindle, wherever you read your online books if you don't have the physical book, or just go to your local bookstore, and I'm sure that they will have it.
Speaker 1:But all right, let's refocus and talk about Saturn. Right, because Saturn is a big one. We all hear about our Saturn return. It's about every like 28 to 30 years. It's, you know, referred to as the Lord of Karma. We'd always hear Saturn and karma attached and it really is here to challenge us, to shape us and help us mature through each phase.
Speaker 1:Right, saturn is going to continue to show up in. If you don't learn the lesson, it's going to show up again. Right, like this is Saturn energy? It restricts a little bit. It's about boundaries, discipline, responsibility. Right, it's associated with time. It's known as the Lord of Time as well as karma, and it really rules the systems that kind of shape our lives. Right, like government, saturn rules Capricorn. So you've heard a lot of talk with Pluto. You know Pluto and Capricorn it's like top down government, things like that tradition, societal expectations. So it is linked, you know, because it does rule Capricorn.
Speaker 1:So we're going to again talk about Saturn's role in your chart, how you can identify where Saturn is, how you can work with it, the impact of Saturn, what it means, what the Saturn return is, right, like again, how we can work with it, you know, when it comes to your relationships, your business, personal growth, all that stuff. And then we're going to have some practical tools and just like a few questions that you can journal around at the end. Right, if you feel like and I'm sure you felt it, because everybody goes through their Saturn return at least once in their life, well, you go through it twice at least once in their life and while it goes, you go through it twice, at least twice in that every 30 years. But it's just like one thing after another, right, like test after test after test, and it can feel really overwhelming, it can feel really scary and I know a lot of people it's like sad in return. Oh no, but it doesn't have to be like a scary thing, right, it's really here to help you build resilience, responsibility and like master that area of your life, right.
Speaker 1:So again, we talked about you know Saturn where rules. But again, wherever Saturn is in your chart, identify Saturn. It sort of looks like an H, a little bit of an H, and whatever area that, whatever sign it's in, this is really where you're going to face challenges and restrictions and what area of your life require discipline and growth. Right, and then how you can mature and come into your own authority and authenticity within that area, right. So again, like Saturn's lessons can feel heavy he's like the judge, but they're really about it Once you move through it. It's about mastering that area, creating a solid foundation for the future, right it? You become wise within this area of your chart, um, and sometimes you know saturn. It's like the wise, strict mentor, uh, that sometimes punishes you, but it's all for your greater good, if you can allow it. And if we don't learn the lessons again, they're going to continue to show up over and over until we learn those lessons.
Speaker 1:So the Saturn return right, we've all heard of our Saturn return. So Saturn return is just when the transiting Saturn returns to the exact same spot it was when you were born, so wherever Saturn is in your birth chart. So for me, saturn was in Sagittarius. So Saturn was in Sagittarius oh my gosh about 10 years ago and it will be again in about 18 years. My math is awful, but something along those lines, right? But again, it happens around every 28 to 30 years and it's it's sort of like a rite of passage, right. So it's interesting, as I've been sort of in my mid to late 30s I was gonna say 80s, 100% not 80 yet, but in my like mid to late 30s I was gonna say 80s, 100%, not 80 yet, but in my like, mid to late 30s and dating people who are a little bit younger If they have not hit that Saturn return.
Speaker 1:I just it's really challenging because I think there's this there's an element of maturity that hasn't been reached yet, right. It's like the Saturn return marks the shift into adulthood, right. You're being asked to take responsibility for your life, right, and like letting go of things that don't work for you and really kind of finding. I think it's around that time where we really start to question deeply, like what is my purpose? What am I here to do? What is my path? What am I going to end up doing? Right, and that second set in return, which is about 57 to 60 years old, it's like a shift in your legacy, right. So now we're reflecting on everything that we've gained and everything that we've learned and kind of questioning like how is that going to leave a mark on the world? How can we leave a mark on the world, right?
Speaker 1:And then your third Saturn return, 86 to 88, right, which now, with all the technology and everything. But this is really like accumulating your life lessons, right, and a really deep understanding of your spiritual purpose and so, but even like, outside of these Saturn transit, so like, if Saturn is touching something in your chart, it really can bring a period, a phase, a cycle of growth and reflection, and so when Saturn aspects again a planet in your chart, it really asks it to slow down and really focuses you, really asks you, sorry, to focus and really refine that area of your life. So if we want to look at where Saturn you know, saturn in the signs and houses, saturn in your chart shows the qualities that you're here to master, right, the energy that you're here to master. So the house placement highlights the area of life where the lessons are played out. So, if we're looking at Saturn in each sign, saturn Aries is really about developing patience and balanced assertiveness, right.
Speaker 1:Saturn in Taurus is building financial and emotional stability. So again, these are areas where it's asking you to take responsibility. It's asking you to focus on, kind of asking you to hone that energy in asking you to become a master of this area of life. Right In Gemini, it's about mastering communication and thinking and focused thinking. Right, gemini can sort of be all over the place sometimes, so it's asking you to come back down and just like, really focus on that cancer right, creating emotional security and healthy boundaries.
Speaker 1:Leo is about embracing your authentic self-expression with humility, and Virgo is finding balance between perfectionism and service. Libra is learning to navigate relationships and fairness. Scorpio is asking you to transform power dynamics and emotional intensity. I giggle just because I'm so like Scorpio to me is. I love Scorpio because it impacts me so deeply that I it's like a love hate relationship, although I don't hate it, but it's challenging, right. Scorpio energy is really challenging and so in Saturn, with Saturn here, it's like restricting and is asking you to really take responsibility for your shit.
Speaker 1:When it comes to Scorpio, which can be a little bit deep, saturn and Sagittarius right is grounding expansive ideas into a practical framework because, again, sagittarius is the philosophers, the traveler. It's very big and grand and optimistic. Saturn and Capricorn Saturn rules Capricorn, so it's all about. It's about balancing ambition with self-care and integrity. Saturn also rules Aquarius, so this is kind of a lesser known of where Saturn rules. But this is about innovating with structure right, bringing that Saturn structure and serving the collective.
Speaker 1:And then Saturn ruling Pisces, which is where Saturn is right now. It's turning spiritual ideas into grounded practices. So Saturn is really like within this area, I've sort of Saturn in Pisces. I think we really aren't going to see the lessons until after it moves out of it, because Pisces rules the 12th house and it's always a little bit hidden from us. But it really feels like this energy of these you know, maybe because I'm in the arena of, you know, spiritual based businesses and things like that but it's sort of like okay, that's real cool, but let's get your shit together and let's focus on our finances, let's set boundaries and get real practical about how we're going to support people with these spiritual tools and ideas and things like that.
Speaker 1:And we're moving into Saturn moves into Aries. I want to say March. I literally just looked at it. I could be wrong. My book is on my bed, so I'm not going to run and go get it now, but in 2025, it will be moving into Aries. Then it's going to dip back into Pisces and then it's going to move back into Aries.
Speaker 1:But it will be in this area of life of Aries, right that developing patience and balanced assertiveness, because Aries is very quick and fiery and action-oriented and is the warrior, and Saturn is like okay, let's calm down, let's ground ourselves a little bit. Let's be assertive, let's set the boundaries, like all those things. But let's like think logically about this before we just kind of spin off and take action and do the things right. So, again, like the house placement of your Saturn really refines the energy, so it's going to show where Saturn's lessons really feel the most present in your life. So, like Saturn in the seventh house might challenge you in partnership, and then Saturn in the 10th house, where it rules, is really going to ask you to build a long-term career, a legacy. I have Saturn in the fifth house and so it's really interesting when ask you to build a long-term career, a legacy.
Speaker 1:I have Saturn in the fifth house, and so it's really interesting when it comes to creativity. So the fifth house is naturally ruled by Leo, so it's fun, play, children, creativity. And I'm a very non-traditional parent, which actually Saturn is kind of asking for tradition. But it's in Sagittarius, right, and so it's really. Sagittarius is a little bit different in that way, like it's optimistic and it's you know, it wants to travel and just like kind of be the free spirited gypsy, and so Saturn and Sagittarius is like no, we're going to ground in a little bit right, like these are really great to have all of these expansive ideas and but like, let's, let's rein it in a little bit. So it's been a little bit uncomfortable, my like dating journey. My Leo naturally rules the fifth house and so in some way, in some nuanced way, like that still impacts me and so it makes it a little bit uncomfortable, and so it's just noticing what house it's in and what sign is in is really going to help you understand the energy that Saturn is bringing to you.
Speaker 1:So, like when I went through my Saturn return, my so again, sagittarius this is specific to my chart, but I'm sharing it as an example Sagittarius rules the ninth house. Right, my Saturn is in Sagittarius, in the fifth house, but when I was going through my Saturn return, I was living in Italy at the time. I had moved back to the US, I had gotten divorced, I had gotten a job, lost a job, I got pregnant, I got married. I did not travel at all, which was so, unlike me, my North Node is also in the ninth house and I love to travel and it sort of grounded me in and like brought me down a little bit. And so I went through all of this in my Saturn return. And then right after that is when I discovered astrology, and astrology is very, I feel like very Sagittarian, in the sense of just like philosophy and like sort of I feel like astrology for me has really freed me in a lot of ways and so I can see that being a Sagittarian trait. And then Saturn and human design. So we'll touch a little bit about human design as well.
Speaker 1:So Saturn is associated, again, with lessons, responsibilities. So finding what gate your Saturn is, finding what sign your Saturn is, finding what house your Saturn is, and finding what gate your Saturn is is really going to help you move through that energy and really kind of help you move more in alignment, right. So, for an example, if Saturn is linked to gate 54, you might feel pressure to succeed, but you have to align with that drive and integrity and purpose, right? If Saturn is in gate 40, which is gate of aloneness, right, you might need to learn how to balance independence and collaboration. So it's just like an extra nuance. So, again, you can do a Google search, find out where Saturn is for you, I think, my Saturn. I'm going to look at it right now because I totally forgot where my Saturn is.
Speaker 1:I want to say gate nine, and gate nine is all about focusing on the details rather than the big picture. But yeah, I'm right, my Saturn is in gate nine. So this is really about like bringing that big picture down and just looking at the details, like putting one foot in front of the other and moving through that, right, and again, that's sort of that set, that is, that Sagittarius energy. Sagittarius has grand, big, huge ideas and it's like, well, no, no, let's funnel it down and just focus on, like, what can we do now? What can we do here? Right, and so really noticing where that is and having that gate, that extra nuanced layer of the lens that you're viewing through, viewing through in your chart.
Speaker 1:So how can we work with Saturn energy, right, how do we embrace Saturn rather than fearing it or worrying about it or getting anxiety over it, especially if you haven't reached that point, or maybe your Saturn return was really challenging, and then you're coming up to your second Saturn return, right, but we can really learn to embrace the structure and discipline, right? Saturn thrives on consistency, so creating routines and long-term goals that really support that, especially in the area of life. So the house that your Saturn is in, um and sort of you know, like I found with my creativity and everything. It's like I actually find myself to be really creative when I I think we think that creativity needs to be free and wild and and it's spontaneous and it is those things. But if you create the space right, if you create the routine and the discipline to come back to it, it's like art.
Speaker 1:I was listening to a podcast I think it was Aubrey Marcus podcast and he had a woman on and that's what she was saying. She's like it is a practice and that was sort of that Saturn energy. But it's like, in order to excel at like art and things like that, you need to keep coming back to it, you need to keep doing it, you need to keep practicing. Right, it's like meditation. You're not going to meditate twice and quiet your mind, like not that that's even the point, but you have to continue to do it and it is a discipline. Right, it is a spiritual practice, but it is also a discipline. So, coming back to those and not rejecting that part of yourself which I think is easy to do is sort of reject that part of who we are. Reflect on your boundaries, right.
Speaker 1:So Saturn's lesson is in boundaries? Where are you saying yes? Where are you saying no? Where are you afraid of saying no? A big one for me is people pleasing, because I don't want the confrontation of saying no. And I had a thing today where I was feeling anxious and I was like, okay, why am I feeling anxious? And I think that what it came down to is I didn't want to say no to somebody because that was uncomfortable. Like what if they got mad or if there was a conflict? And it's also okay. It's okay to say no and to take care of yourself. Like you are safe, unless you're not, and then that's a whole other situation. But you know, as long as you're safe, we'll say that like it's okay to say no. It's a full sentence, right? So it's really going to ask you to, like, evaluate your relationships, your work commitments right, and your energy, seeing where your energy is invested, where it's flowing within those areas, right. It's asking you also to take responsibility for your growth. You're always growing, we're always growing, we're always shifting, we're always changing, and Saturn is really asking you to own your life's direction, right? So instead of being the victim and blaming everybody else and that was why I was in such that victim mindset when I was in my Saturn return but it forced me to turn it around and be like hold on, where am I not taking accountability for this? I am responsible for my life. So a lot shifted within that area of my life as I was going through that Saturn return. More so after I think, after I was going through that Saturn return, more so after I think, after I got out of that Saturn return, was really when I was able to see it and shift it.
Speaker 1:So we've gone through the houses, we've gone through the signs that it can be in. So how can we? We've talked a little bit about how it can work with the energy. Remember, I actually don't think we went through the houses. The first house is the house of self. It's you, it's the mask you wear, it's your physical body. The second house is the house of self-worth, your resources. The third house is communication. It's the mind, it's siblings, it's short distance travel. The fourth house is your home. It's your inner world, it's your ancestors, it's your roots, it's everything you're reading down into.
Speaker 1:The fifth house is creativity, fun, play, dating, children. The sixth house is your health, your daily routine, your work. The seventh house is relationships, long-term relationships. So this can be romantic, it can be business partnerships, can be parental children, whatever any long-term relationship. The eighth house is drug, sex, rock and roll. It's all about the deep dark, the occult. It's intense, it's passionate, it's about secrecy, it's learning to trust, it's all these things. The ninth house is the philosopher, it's the teacher, it's travel, it's education, it's religion. Tenth house is career and your public persona. Eleventh house is groups. Eleventh house is technology. Eleventh house is the humanitarian and the twelfth house is groups. 11th house is technology. 11th house is the humanitarian and the 12th house is sort of all things hidden from us. It's our subconscious.
Speaker 1:So, again, identifying what house Saturn is in, what sign it's in, will help you understand that. So then we can take this into our journal. So, if you want to pause this or if you want to write these down, some journaling prompts around Saturn that you can journal around are what area of life feels most challenging right now and how might this be connected to my Saturn placement or current transit? So again, if you have anything in Pisces, like I, have Jupiter in Pisces right now and it's been conjunct Saturn, so it's felt really uncomfortable and it's asking me to like get my shit together when it comes to all that stuff too, right? Um, so what do I need to create more structure or discipline? And then how can I own my current situation? Um, you can do, you can meditate, right.
Speaker 1:Visualization. So visual, visualize Saturn's energy as like a wise elder. So when I would visualize Saturn and Pisces this is sort of the energy that I got I would see Saturn as just like it was very like gentle and holding Pisces, and I love sort of giving things more texture, I guess like personality, and so you can do that with Saturn in your chart and really like sort of gain a relationship with Saturn in your chart, right, and really asking, like what am I here to learn right now? Like, what is the lesson within this area? And just like tracking Saturn, right, like where is it in your chart? Sort of like having awareness of, like when things are going to come up, when it's going to retrograde, how it's going to impact you, right?
Speaker 1:So, again, like Saturn can feel really heavy at times, but it's really here to help you grow and become more resilient and to find your authenticity. Right, it is the teacher, it's wise, it's also the judge, right, like we said it's sort of going to punish you in order to get you back on track right Again. The lessons aren't going to be easy necessarily, but they're always worth it. So, again, to start working with Saturn, understand your Saturn placement, reflect on the house and sign and I love to just like journal sorry Google and then just journal out like keywords that really resonate to me, um, and then journal, meditate and create consistent routines really to like run the energy in Right. So if you're currently navigating like your Saturn return or a major Saturn transit no, it's temporary, like I always say with everything like this too shall pass, and if you really lean into it and if you really allow it to, it can be like profound in your life, and I think that's what the Saturn return is for.
